We are the Parish Church of St. Barnabas, Bredbury. We worship together every Sunday at 10:15am and we also share a short Holy Communion service every Friday at 11:15am. Our longing is to encounter God’s love and to partner with the Parish of Lower Bredbury to see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven. Why not join us as we journey together into God’s love.

“What Christmas means to me”

At our recent Christmas Fair, many filled in a card to tell us what Christmas meant to them. To lots of people, Christmas is about Family and spending time together. To others, sharing the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and remembering him. It’s a time to be grateful; a time for reflection and thanks; being happy; peace; remembering loved ones no longer with us; a time for sharing and caring; memories; sadness; hope;  reflection of good times with and remembering family no longer here; laughter;  wonderful and better with Jesus; bringing joy to others, making everything worthwhile; thanking God for all our blessings;  celebration and sharing with others; celebrating the birth of Jesus; a time to enjoy our church family and share services together; a time to remember that Jesus came into the world for us; a new better life for everyone around the world; God and Christ drawing us into their embrace – an embrace the speaks without words, understands every earthly need we carry and warms both our heart and soul with love.

In the words of children, Christmas is “new life and a quiet burst of light within the human heart; in a moment of stillness, we hear the world whisper that it is still filled with God’s love”: “all buildings, Snowmans, Christmas Trees.”

Such beautiful words from so many in our community (and our Church Family too). May we build on these feelings and continue to reveal your ever-loving presence in the hope that, one day, these people may find you and start to worship with us.
